To avoid confusion - I got the document which is the basis for this application off of a BBS. After the initial shock wore off I decided it might be a good idea to format it in a more friendly manner, hence the application. Here is the original intro...
A lot of changes have been made to the FAQ since last posting (which was ages ago; I'll try not to disappear into my work for so long again!).
To encourage readers, and to align the C++ FAQ with the style used by certain other large newsgroups, I've broken the FAQ into bite-sized pieces rather than a few enormous ones (hopefully this will make it easier for folks to find what they're looking for; we shall see). I added an `Expires:' header so it shouldn't vanish from your site until the next one comes out (if I post the next one early [ha!], I'll use a `Supersedes:' header).
Next time there will be a `diff' posted so those who only want the updates can get them quickly. Also I'm going to try to post the `intro and contents' every 10 days so sites which expire in 10 days can always have a recent copy (this section tells how to ftp or email a copy of the full FAQ).
Many thanks to those who have helped make the comp.lang.c++ FAQ a success. In hopes of clarity, Marshall Cline
PS: if you wish to suggest an addition to the FAQ, I only ask that you phrase it as a question/answer somewhat like the form herein (I get 120K/month of suggestions, so your help in this matter is greatly appreciated).
